In June State Archives staff transferred 44 series of local government records from Ohio University.  Included were records from Athens, Gallia, Lawrence, Meigs, Monroe, Morgan, Muskingum, Perry, and Washington counties.  Among the records transferred to the Ohio Historical Society were:

• Perry County.  Probate Court: Birth Record, 1867-1908
• Perry County.  Probate Court: Death Record, 1867-1908
• Washington County.  Probate Court: Birth Record, 1867-1914
• Washington County.  Probate Court: Death Record, 1867-1908
• Washington County.  Probate Court: Marriage Record, 1789-1918
