This site is the only fully recreated Hopewell earthwork complex of the five managed by the National Park Service. Mound City Group is a uniquely sacred space, even among Hopewell earthworks. Walking among these burial mounds can give the sense of what it must have been like to attend a ceremonial gathering here nearly two thousand years ago.
