From Lake Erie, to canals, to rivers, Ohio’s maritime history is rich and ancient. This presentation will highlight the stories of several shipwrecks; their ‘lives’, ‘deaths’ and discoveries. How many shipwrecks are in Ohio? Come and Find out!

Speaker for this program:

Linda Pansing is Curator of Archeology for the Ohio History Connection. She received her degrees from The Ohio State University and did her underwater field work with Florida State University. Linda is a scuba instructor and has been diving since 1988. She has conducted field research and/or has been project manager for surveys of terrestrial and underwater sites that date from the Late Pleistocene to the 20th century. She is a co-founder of the Maritime Archeological Survey Team (MAST), a 501(c)3 nonprofit dedicated to the documentation, scientific study and education pertaining to Ohio’s underwater archeological resources.
