Series will take place on Saturdays, Jan. 21 - Feb. 18, 2023
Throughout Africa, body adornments are made from local materials and worn for a variety of reasons. Explore how artisans have traditionally made beads from glass, brass, wood, shell and bone. You will receive a sampling of beads to start your collection. Expand your collection as you learn to create your own statement pieces made from paper, fabric, leather and found objects to make truly unique wearable art. On the last day of class prepare to show off your work in front of friends and family by participating in a class fashion show. All skill levels welcome!
A generous grant from E. A. Michelson Philanthropy covers some of the supplies provided to participants.
