Eden Baptist Church, originally established as Union Baptist Church of Pee Pee Hills in 1824, was founded by a dozen African American families from Virginia and North Carolina who settled in the Pike and Ross County area in 1820. Initially, they gathered in their homes until the church was constructed in 1824. The Eden Baptist Cemetery is situated at the original church site. In 1878, the second church was built at its current location. This church has celebrated its anniversary annually for the past 199 years. Rev. Olie Burton from Mt. Zion Baptist Church in Springfield, OH, will be the Guest Speaker.
