Lucy Webb Hayes Heritage Center

The Lucy Webb Hayes Heritage Center marks the birthplace of Lucy Ware Webb, born on August 28, 1831. She was the wife of President Rutherford B. Hayes (1877-1881). Lucy holds the distinction of being the only First Lady born in Chillicothe, Ohio, and the first presidential spouse to be officially designated as “First Lady.”
