Ohio Village

What is Ohio Village?

down arrow right arrow

Ohio Village is a reproduction of a small Ohio community in the 1890s, filled daily with villagers and artisans that share new stories of 19th-century Ohio life. The buildings form the commercial, social, and political core of the town and represent several architectural styles of Ohio's history.

Why is Ohio Village closed?

down arrow right arrow

The Ohio History Connection has launched an ambitious and comprehensive renovation and revitalization project for a better visitor experience on its entire Columbus campus on East 17th Avenue. A renovation and reimagining of Ohio Village will be part of that initiative, which is known as Campus 2.OH.

Construction work on Ohio Village will begin this fall. Ohio Village has been a favorite destination for Ohioans over the past 50 years, so the planned renovation project is both a celebration and a preservation effort that will help us share Ohio's stories for the next 50 years and beyond. We want Ohio Village to be a sustainable resource for future generations. Work will be completed in phases over several years, with a reopening scheduled for 2026. We will focus on infrastructure improvements for the grounds and an engaging range of experiences for visitors
