Discover Discovery Park at the Ohio History Center
Posted January 3, 2025

The Ohio History Center has recently updated the Discovery Park play area. Located in the Nature of Ohio section of the museum, Discovery Park now features camping and outdoors-themed activities for kids aged six and under.

Kids will think they're just having fun, but you'll know they're practicing fine motor skills with puzzles and building toys, learning about animals and nature with books and manipulatives, building social skills through dramatic play and gaining map reading skills through a scavenger hunt. There are opportunities for kids and their grown-ups to play together, as well as activities that kids can do on their own.

"Our goal is to provide immersive, engaging experiences for our visitors within the Ohio History Center," says Katie Nowack, manager of Ohio History Center programs. "This process is always improving and does so with evaluations and feedback from our visitors. We are so excited to further develop programming and interpretation within the building to further elevate the visitor experience on site."
