(COLUMBUS, OH)— The Ohio History Connection invites you to travel back in time for the holidays beginning November 28th through January 4th.
From the 19th century to the 1950s, enjoy holiday favorites like Dickens of a Christmas, the fully decked-out Lustron home, a 1950s model train display and a special holiday Echoes in Time Theater performance called I’m Dreaming of a White Christmas. We also invite you to attend other special holiday happenings at our sites around the state.
A Christmas classic, Dickens of a Christmas takes visitors back in time as the Ohio Village, the Ohio History Connection’s recreated 19th-century community, is transformed with Victorian-era crafts, decorations, caroling, cooking demonstrations and traditions inspired by Charles Dickens’ festive vision of Christmas. Follow the Ghost of Christmas Past and meet Dickens, Saint Nicholas himself and an assortment of 19th-century characters along the way.
At the Ohio History Center you can get festive, 1950s style! With the help of the Central Ohio Model Railroad Club, the Ohio History Connection has created a holiday train display within the 1950’s: Building the American Dream exhibit. Visit the nine-by-20-foot display in the Lustron home and check out some of the home’s authentic holiday decorations while you’re there.
Also, don’t miss the Echoes in Time Theatre performance of I’m Dreaming of a White Christmas. Enjoy a walk down memory lane as the character Mabel recalls Christmas past and prepares for the holidays circa 1950 in this one-woman show.

Christmas in Zoar-Founded by German religious separatists in 1819, Zoar Village looks much as it did a century and more ago. During Christmas in Zoar December 6 and 7, you can tour homes, enjoy musical entertainment, take a horse-drawn carriage ride, shop a juried craft show and attend a tree-lighting ceremony or candlelight service in the historic church.
