In honor of Juneteenth, Kathleen Kaslow from the Westerville Public Library’s History Museum will share information on the Fouse Family at Hanby House.

The Fouse Family patriarch, Squire Fouse, was born a slave and came to Westerville after the Civil War and eventually purchased the Hanby House. His son, William Henry Fouse, was the first black graduate of the Westerville High School and of Otterbein University, and was an honored educator.
