Welcome to Historic St. Peter Catholic Church. Established in 1853, St. Peter Parish was created to serve a community of German immigrants in what was then Cleveland’s East End. The parish church, designed in the German “Country Church” style and built in 1857, remains the oldest church still in use in the Catholic Diocese of Cleveland.
While the interior was extensively renovated in the 1980s to feature a simple, monastic style, the soaring columns and ceiling stand as an impressive monument to the immigrant congregation that built this house of worship. Come explore the rich history and architectural beauty of St. Peter Catholic Church.
