Visit Hanby House and learn about the woman who saved the house from demolition and the Hanby family legacy from being lost. Dacia Custer Shoemaker was the daughter of a Civil War Veteran who grew up in the household of his cousin General George Custer. Dacia’s family included inventors as well as soldiers. She had a passion for preservation and history. Presentations about the family will be ongoing on the lawn at Hanby House. No reservations required. Event is open to the public and free.
