Collections & Research
Folks engage with our GOHI Collections for many reasons: academic research, genealogy, or just curiosity. We encourage you to explore!
Many items in the GOHI Collections have been digitized and are available to researchers through our online platform, Ohio Memory. However, there are many more items in the GOHI Collections than we can feature online. To consult papers, photographs, and audiovisual materials, you can make an appointment to visit the Archives & Library in Columbus.
Before your visit, you will want to search our online catalog. We also suggest taking a look at our Research Guide for LGBTQ+ Collections. If you come across any problems during this process, you can contact us at 614.297.2510 or [email protected].
Search the museum collections catalog to learn about GOHI objects, including political buttons, banners, clothing, and more. Note: while we prepare to move our museum collections into a new facility, objects in the GOHI Collections will not be accessible. We look forward to having you visit once the move is complete!
