The Ohio Holocaust and Genocide Memorial and Education Commission
The Ohio Holocaust and Genocide Memorial and Education Commission was formed in 2021 and consists of 15 members appointed by the Governor. The Commission’s duties are identified in Ohio Revised Code Section 197.08. Generally, the commission is charged with gathering and disseminating Holocaust and Genocide information and helping promote awareness of issues relating to the Holocaust and genocide while advising state government officials on these relevant issues.

New Funding Opportunities for Ohio Teachers (Grades 5-12)
The Ohio Holocaust and Genocide Memorial and Education Commission is offering two unique funding opportunities for teachers grades 5-12 at Ohio accredited schools. These programs will help unlock the power of history, ignite critical thinking, and inspire a lifelong passion for learning in students.

The Commission has grants now available for field trips to Holocaust and genocide museums and memorials in Ohio. Funding covers transportation, entrance fees, and other expenses associated with a museum visit.
Possible field trip locations include:
- Nancy and David Wolf Holocaust and Humanity Center (Cincinnati)
- Maltz Museum of Jewish Heritage (Cleveland)
- “Prejudice & Memory: A Holocaust Exhibit” at the National Museum of the USAF (Dayton)
- “Dayton Peace Accords Exhibit” at the International Peace Museum (Dayton)
