The Ohio Historical Society offers museum and non-profit experience for serious college and graduate students in the form of unpaid, paid, and Federal Work Study internship positions. Past interns received experience and provided support in the following departments: Archaeology, Collections, Digital Services, Education and Outreach, Government Relations, Historic Preservation, Library, Local History, Marketing, Retail, Special Events, State Archives, Visitor Experience, and Visitor Studies. Internships are offered for fall and spring semesters as well as during the summer. Interested candidates must submit all documents to the Lead Volunteer Coordinator. Successful candidates will be asked to complete a phone interview and in person interview. All internships require a successful background check, which can be completed in the Volunteer Department at the Ohio Historical Society.

Federal Work Study Positions
The Ohio Historical Society offers Federal Work Study positions for Columbus State Community College and Ohio State University students that have federal work study as part of their award package. Please contact the Volunteer Office for more information on these positions.

All internship applications require a cover letter, resume, and list of references. Some internship positions may require additional documents, such as a writing sample.
