Girl Scout Programs

Programs for Winter/Spring 2015

Who knew that learning about history could be so much fun? We offer Girl Scout groups of all ages fun ways to experience the past. All scouts receive a special “Overnight at the Museum” patch for attending! More programs may be added throughout the year, so check back for updates.All overnight programs include snacks on Friday and breakfast on Saturday morning. If you or one of your scouts has a food allergy please let us know in advance.

Reservations are due two weeks prior to the date of the program. Payment is due at time of reservation.  A 72-hour cancellation notification is required in order to receive a refund. Please be aware that if registration is low, the program may be canceled. You will receive a full refund if we cancel the program.

Brownie Overnight

 

Exploring the Past Brownie Overnight
April 10 & 11, 2015                          
6:30 pm Friday – 10 am Saturday
Ohio History Center
$25 per scout, $25 per adult

History comes alive in this hands-on overnight program geared for Brownie Girl Scouts. Join in activities that give you a glimpse into days long gone. Learn and play games that were popular with girls in the 19th and 20th centuries, hear stories from the past, do period crafts, and have lots of fun.


 

Junior & Cadette Overnight Programs:

 

Mayhem and Mystery in the Museum
February 6 & 7, 2015    
6:30pm Friday - 10:00am Saturday
Ohio History Center
$25 per scout, $25 per adult               

Join us for this special program at the museum when our chief curator unveils the necklace of the mysterious “Mummy Princess.” Recently discovered in an unopened box, the necklace is said to have mysterious powers! Each scout has a role in solving the mystery. Afterwards learn what real museum curators and staff do in the museum.

 

Blast from the Past 1950s Overnight
May 1 & 2, 2015     
6:30pm Friday - 10:00am Saturday
Ohio History Center
$25 per scout, $25 per adult           

Join in this blast from the past overnight that is all about the 1950s. Learn about this hip decade through dance, music, crafts and fashions.

 

Every Day Life in the 19th Century

Ohio History Center and Ohio Village
$25 per scout, $25 per adult                                        

Scouts can spend time both in the Ohio Village and the Ohio History Center. Friday evening starts out with scouts roaming through Ohio Village, a recreated 19th Century town, to learn what life was like for a girl during the 19th century.  The program then moves to the Ohio History Center where Scouts have free time in the museum. We top off the program on Saturday morning with a special gossip tour in the village, where they will learn about the happenings of a small town.
