Welcome to Blast from the Past, the Ohio Historical Society’s summer camp program that provides kids with the ultimate summer adventure—a trip through time!
Blast from the Past camps take place from July 7 through August 1 at the Ohio History Center and Ohio Village. Each camp is one week long and takes place Monday through Friday from 9:00am to 3:00pm. Programs are geared for kids age 6-11 years-old.
Discounts are available for multiple camp registrations and for OHS members. Snacks are provided each day; campers bring their own non-perishable lunch and drink. Lunches should be in a bag or box labeled with the camper’s name. Vending machines and refrigerators will not be available to campers.

A Day in the Life…1950s
Campers will get to spend the week experiencing life in the 1950s by playing in our 1950s Lustron House. The campers will get to dress up, play with records, make crafts, play games and even have snacks from the 1950s. Campers will also learn about popular TV shows, songs and toys. They will have a neat-o time!
Campers will spend the week in the Ohio Village learning about life and farming in the 1860s. They will work in the garden, help take care of our chickens, and even learn how to cook on a wood stove.

Ohio is home to some of history’s most famous people: including 8 Presidents and the first man on the Moon. Each day campers will learn about a new Famous Ohioan through hands-on crafts, games and activities. Campers will end the week by building and launching their own model rockets.
