Teachers

“[Students] have an opportunity to visit archives, interview experts, read primary sources and visit museums and historical sites related to their topic. This is “boots on the ground” work and requires the students to think critically about the type and variety of sources they encounter. The ability to conduct wide ranging research is an essential skill for college." - History Day teacher

Teachers have integrated Ohio History Day into their classrooms in a variety of ways:

  • Required class project- All students in the class are required to complete the project and receive a grade
  • Extra Credit- Project is offered as extra-credit. Students may work after school with a teacher or independently
  • History Club- Interested students can participate as part of a club activity
  • Team Teach- Two teachers take on the project in both classes as a required project
